A powerful earthquake struck Sumatra island in Indosesia yesterday leaving many homeless. According to resources the magnitude was around 4.9 th 8.4 in Richter scale - described as one of the most powerful earthquake of this year so far by U.S Geological survey (U.S.G.S).

After hours of desperation a immediate Tsunami warning was issued to all the rim countries in Indian Ocean to avert the possible attack by this deadly killer.
“We can expect aftershocks to continue for some time,” USGS Geophysicist Dale Grant told Reuters.
One of the worst hit provinces Pedang, the west capital of Sumatra was disrupted leaving many people in chaos and running after the other places.
The mayor of Pedang said many people were trapped inside the collapsed building leaving many injured.
“The casualities can be increased as more and more information are coming in”, said the Mayor Fauzi Bahar creating panic amongst other.
According to Reuters a four storey car showroom was collpased causing fears that many people can be trapped inside.
Officials were also deeply concerned about the situation in Bengkulu, a coastal city of about 300,000 people and the closest major town to the epicenter of Wednesday’s huge quake.
Bengluke is tourist attraction as it is mountaineous region but many people opted to sleep outdoors.
Hospitals, clinics and other important houses are detroyed making even more difficult for the rescue workers to contain the situation. Half of Bengluku is destroyed said one of the eyewittnes.
Researches are held as why Indonesia is prone to many earthquake at this time but could not find the exact solution.According to Geologist Grant, “Indonesia suffers frequent quakes, as it lies on an active seismic belt on part of the so-called Pacific “Ring of Fire”.
A huge earthquake struck on Dec 26th 2004 leaving 2,40,000 dead in around the countries of Indian Ocean.
“My family and neighbors are evacuating to higher ground. Everyone in the place where I live decided to evacuate,” said one of the fellow inmates of Pedang.

Well once again the nature has disrupted the livelihood of people by means of earthquake let’s believe that atleast Tsunami doesn’t struck this time.Only time will tell decide the fate.
